Our Beginning
Jonathan comes from a farming family. He is a Fifth generation farmer. His father and grandfather before him were dairy farmers on the same property we now raise beef cattle. We raise a variety of beef cattle and cross bred cattle. Catie comes from a country life on the Tangipahoa river. Her love of animals and especially large animals, and past work as a veterinary assistant, has made her fall in love with the farming life. The Ruff N Tuff name has a double meaning for us. We have two toy poodles that the farm is named after, but we agree that the farming life is both Rough and Tough.
Our middle son running to help Dad tend the fields on the tractor. He has been a great co-pilot.
Our Mission
We aim to deliver quality locally raised beef, pork and poultry to families in the Ponchatoula and surrounding areas. We established our mother farm in 1904 as Ernst and Sons Dairy and have been producing for Five generations in the Ponchatoula area.
We have a love of the animals and take pride in providing quality beef, pork and poultry products. We only sell quality products grown and raised locally here in the Ponchatoula area. We sell our livestock at all times of the year. We also have several breeds of goats available for sale. All of our sales are private treaty. Please contact one of us for prices.
We raise many different types of cattle, most of them beef cattle and cross bred cattle. Our breeds and crosses include; Angus, Brangus, Hereford, Gelbvieh, Simmental, Holstein, and Jersey, just to name a few. If you interested in a certain breed or cross, please let us know and we may be able to accommodate your needs.
